We are very happy to announce that Startpagina.nl, a very well-known Dutch website with approximately 4 million page views per day, has chosen Agnoplay for playing video content. Startpagina has traditionally been a website on which visitors are offered links to all kinds of content providers, with Startpagina providing clear sections and themes to help its visitors get started. Links are also placed to providers of video content. However, with the growth of online video in general, Startpagina sees that streaming videos from its own platform has become increasingly important. On the one hand, this can greatly increase engagement and time-on-site. On the other hand, it offers opportunities to realize a solid business model around online video for Startpagina.
To achieve these goals it was necessary to look for a video player which Startpagina could manage in-house, without being dependent on external video platforms such as Youtube. Another important requirement was that the player of choice could be easily implemented without much development impact, and then maintained with little effort. Of course, it also had to be an affordable solution that can grow with Startpagina’s ambitions. And all this is exactly what Agnoplay could offer.
